About Katie

I am an archaeologist, scientist, and policy wonk perpetually looking for ways to mesh my deep background in archaeology, natural/cultural resources, and scientific knowledge with my director-level experience in policy.

My experience is eclectic; spanning policy development and implementation in archaeology, public lands, and energy & environment more broadly. As an archaeologist, I managed natural and cultural resources on public lands while researching how prehistoric societies dealt with changing climates and economies. After completing a Ph.D. in Archaeology, I applied this expertise (and learned some new things) on Capitol Hill as a Professional Staffer and AAAS Science Policy Fellow with the House Natural Resources Committee. I now lead federal climate, environment, and labor policy for a national nonprofit.
